A partnership between family and school

Our Collaborative Approach

Best of Both Worlds

Doxa is a 5-day/week school, divided into three days in the base classroom and two days in the satellite classroom—your home. This model melds the strengths of homeschooling and traditional schooling.

Stewarding Our Time

After full school days, homework, extra-curriculars, and the rest of normal life, parents are left with scraps to do the all-important work of discipling their children. Even with all the time given to schooling, a child may fall behind in one class while remaining unchallenged in another. It leaves us wondering if this industrial model is the best use of our time and efforts to meet our children's needs.

At Doxa, we seek to maximize the influence that parents have in the discipleship and development of their children. We are here to equip you in this God-given calling. We partner with parents as co-teachers so that every parent is supported by professional educators and that every child's unique needs are met.

Better Together

In our collaborative approach we provide everything you will need (including curriculum, lesson plans, professional guidance, and materials) to confidently and successfully do school at home.

Your children will keep the benefits of traditional schooling—friendships with peers, electives and sports, as well as a variety of godly role models and teachers who excel in your weaknesses. They'll also retain the benefits of homeschooling—time with siblings, flexibility for experiences normally not offered, and teachers who know and love them most (that's you).

What Does It Look Like?

Our satellite classroom days are Wednesdays and Fridays. You will be given the lesson plans from the teacher. We estimate that for elementary students, all satellite classroom days can be completed by noon. If you are able to complete everything restfully, we encourage you to enrich your children's education with added experiments, adventures, activities, tutoring, or books in a fitting proportion. We want you to give your own heritage to your children, perhaps a shared interest, hobby, or learn something new together!

Before the first day of school, we hold parent training sessions, where we fully orient you in our collaborative process. No teaching certificate or experience is required.

Many families where both parents work are still able to successfully enjoy this type of education. In any case, we highly encourage that the satellite classroom be at a consistent location with a consistent co-teacher.
