Kindergarten Teacher

Amy Dufek

“Thou hast formed us for Thyself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee.”

This Augustine quote certainly rings true for me as I see how God has sovereignly and beautifully orchestrated all things in my life to bring me to himself, make me more like his son, Jesus Christ, and to bring honor and glory to his name despite my weaknesses. I am thankful that the plans of the Lord never fail, and that he continues to teach me to submit my plans to his. My desire is to willingly and joyfully obey what God calls me to do in the places he has me. Being a teacher at Doxa this year is one of those places.

I have been Luke’s wife for almost 17 years and a mother for 14 years to Isaiah (14), Levi (11), Simeon (9) and Titus (6). Discipling and educating our four boys is a privilege and a calling that Luke and I depend on God’s grace for daily. Luke is the Preaching Pastor at Woodridge Community Church, where we worship and serve alongside our church family, whom we love dearly!

I am from the Milwaukee area. I grew up in a religious and moral home, knew my Bible stories and am thankful that I heard the Gospel in church and at school. I was saved by God during my early college years when he opened my eyes showing me my sin and that without trusting in Christ’s finished work I was separated from God and deserving of his wrath. I was baptized as a believer in 2006.

After receiving a B.S. from UW-Stevens Point and a M.A. in Teaching from Rockford University, I taught as a special education teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools until my first son was born.

My greatest joys are being a wife and mother, teaching and discipling women, keeping our home, spending time at our family cabin in Neshkoro, WI, reading the Bible and other good books, and recently, caring for our chickens.

I look forward to partnering with parents at Doxa Christian Academy as we teach our children and pray for them to succeed academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually (for they are not disconnected!), all while shouting, “Christ is King!”.
