The Lord graciously saved me from my sin and called me to Himself in 2010, shortly after my husband Adam and I were married, while attending Woodridge Community Church. It was at that time that I repented and trusted in the finished work of Jesus Christ for my salvation. We’ve remained active members at Woodridge for the last 13 years, where Adam serves as the deacon of Adult Sunday School and I serve in Children’s Sunday School, the nursery, teaching in women’s ministry and counseling other women with scripture.
I am honored to be teaching this year at Doxa Christian Academy and am especially excited to be partnering with other Doxa parents as we seek to instruct our children about that which is good, true and beautiful. Since discovering the classical model of education through our church community, books and podcasts, it has become apparent to Adam and I that classical schooling is an exceptional fit for our family. Our prayer is that at Doxa our children would develop a love for learning, as their minds and hearts are trained to desire and behold the glory of the Lord. As a teacher and parent, I believe when we raise up young men and women to joyously and victoriously love and live for Jesus Christ, we are fulfilling our command to disciple the next generation. I’m so grateful to be part of a school that exists to do just that.
I grew up in New Berlin where my family currently resides. I graduated in 2008 from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Following college, I worked in child welfare, elderly/adult continuum of care and marketing before choosing to work inside the home, raising our four children Jacob (10), Rowan (8), Bryce (6) and Kelsie (4). Adam and I feel privileged to be able to raise our children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord and we see this as one of our greatest joys and biggest responsibilities. In addition to ministry, teaching and homemaking, I enjoy doing just about any outdoor activity: swimming, kayaking, biking, hiking, camping, and exploring Wisconsin’s state parks. I love spending time with friends and family and I especially love sharing in the joys of the Lord with those around me.
