I am grateful to have grown up in a Christian home in which I learned and believed the truths of the gospel at an early age. I met my husband, Adam, at Heritage Christian Schools and we were married in 1997. Although we mostly homeschooled throughout the years, our youngest two children, Landon and Kacey, attend Doxa. In addition to homeschooling our high school daughter, we enjoy supporting and spending time with our oldest four children and daughter-in-law in their various stages of young adult life.
As a family, we enjoy camping, board games, reading, and music - creating, playing, singing, dancing, and theater! The Lord has used great trials to teach us much about suffering and trusting in the goodness of God. Turning to the Lord in worship and song has been foundational in remaining steadfast and hopeful.
Over the past 20+ years, I have taught history, literature, writing, and music at homeschool co-ops and classes. I currently teach women at Woodridge Community Church and am passionate about biblical counseling and sharing hope from God’s Word. I am delighted to be teaching Grammar and Composition at Doxa. I hope to share my excitement for the beauty of language and together with other parents, raise our children to understand and communicate truth clearly and effectively.
Romans 5:1-5 - Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
